A Strong Woman is Running for President

I am so proud that we have such a strong woman likely to be the next president of the United States.  It is sad to say, but I don’t think everyone is proud.

In fact, I think there are many that feel threatened by such a strong woman. The day Hillary Clinton became First Lady, and began working on establishing health insurance for all, was just too much for the Good Old Boys (GOP) and conservative Democrats to handle.

We need to look past the Republicans’ effort who are trying everything and anything to keep this wonderful strong woman from becoming president. They have been trying, in vain, to discredit Hillary Clinton for years. We cannot let them get away with it.

It’s Election Season Again!

Bernie sanders with we the people

Bernie Sanders with We the People

So we are back. Back in the windy world of presidential politics.

As a person whose goal is to seek and disseminate the truth, I will say that I believe Bernie Sanders is the most truthful candidate I have ever seen.  He wants to work within the rigged system, then mobilize the American people to fix the system with their votes. The current system is set up so  private companies can give a lot of money to politicians so that they will legislate policies that enable these companies to make more money. This prevents our elected officials from doing what is best for We the People.  If these politicians do NOT do what the private companies want, they will give their money to another candidate, a candidate that they CAN control.

Well, the days are over when the People vote against there own self interests by believing the false rhetoric  “take our country back” or “make America great again.”  What the People didn’t understand, until finally Senator Sanders is now telling them, is that when they say “take our country back,” what they really mean is, take it away from We the People, and give it to wealthy.  When they say “make America great again,” what they are really saying is make the wealthiest Americans great again. And the word “again” is really unnecessary because it always was great for the wealthy, and it always will be great for the wealthy unless if we, yes, We the People, stand up and VOTE!

The voters of yesterday thought that government was too big. They thought they wanted  smaller government. If the government is made smaller,  all that extra “power and money” of the government will NOT be given to We the People! It will be given to the wealthy, the big corporations, the banks, the 1/10 of 1 percent.  If the voters want to “reduce the size of government,”  we the People will NOT be the beneficiaries! We the People will not prosper.  The wealthy will prosper. The wealthy will take  control, doing what is best for their profit line, definitely NOT what is best for We the People.

We the People, and only We the People have the power, but we must use that power by voting! And we must vote for someone who is going to keep We the People in power by taking that power and money away from the wealthy, the big corporations, the banks, the 1/10 of 1 percent. That wealth does not trickle down. That wealth does NOT create jobs. If it did, We the People would be getting richer, too. But, as we all know, the rich are getting richer and the We are getting poorer.

Bernie Sanders is the only one who can effectively bring this truthful message to We the People, and enable Us to rebuild this nation, to make is strong, to make it safe, to make it the envy of all the world.

Sarah Palin’s Congressional Target Hit! Gabrielle Giffords Shot

UPDATE: 1/8/11 Sarah Palin’s website “Takebackthe20.com” has been mysteriously taken down, but not before I made a copy of it. Visit Take Back the 20.com to see my copy of this website!

Could this be the first shot fired in the war declared on the American People by the right wing fanatics?

USA Today Reported on September 24, 2010

In a website launched on Thursday, the six-month anniversary of the health care law, Palin puts a bull’s-eye on 20 House districts under a headline that reads,

Included among Palin’s Democratic targets: North Dakota’s at-large Rep. Earl Pomeroy, Southeast Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and Virginia Rep. Tom Perriello.

The map, reproduced here from Sarah Palin’s website, showed a bulls eye as seen looking down the barrel of a rifle. The heading reads “We’ve diagnosed the problem… Help us prescribe the solution.”

Rep Giffords

Target Map Direct from Sarah Palin's Website. Shows Target on Giffords' district where she was shot

Is this the new culture of politics that the extreme religious right wish to promote?

Smears galvanizes Obama supporters

Every smear promoted against Barack Obama only galvanizes his supporters.  What the McCain campaign does not understand is that Barack Obama represents every American who ever felt marginalized.

Every woman who was been raped.  Every woman that survived breast cancer.  Every man and woman who
had to work 2 and 3 jobs to make ends meet.  Every soldier who went to Iraq and knew it was wrong and had to do it anyway.  Every African-American who was subject to racism (and that would be every black person in America). Every Hispanic who was subject to prejudice.  Every child who was ostracized
or alienated for being “different,” every elderly person made to feel obsolete and unimportant, every disabled person made to feel deficient and anyone else who was marginalized by the minority ruling class:  the 1% of predominantly white, male Americans who control most of the country’s wealth
and therefore most of the power.

In the words of Mahatma Ghandi, every tyrant who ever ruled has always fallen.  They are consumed by their own hatred.  So when the Republicans smear Obama, it is GOOD for the Obama campaign. It just makes everyone in his campaign work that much harder.  In fact, we should thank the Republicans for handing him this election.

And THAT, my friend, is why Obama will win.  Just look at history and reflect upon the energy of this campaign.  It is born from the negative energy that produced the opposition:  prejudice, murder, hatred, hundreds of years of discrimination and violence.  Now all Americans who were victimized by our fear and stupidity have a leader.

Yes, there is danger, because the minority ruling class is fearful and does not want to lose power.  However,
just like Ghandi, King, and Bobby Kennedy before him, Obama will not lose
because he has the spirit of all those leaders within him.

Sarah Palin, a Republican’s Pawn

I am starting to feel really bad for Sarah Palin. It is becoming more and more clear that she is being used by the republican party to appease the Evangelicals, and a transparent attempt to get the women voters. Hillary Clinton supporters have already heckled her, and she has only appeared twice!

We should be outraged that McCain would select a person who has not been vetted and is totally, completely and clearly not ready to be the most powerful leader in the world dealing with the likes of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Vladimir Putin,Kim Jong-il, the Taliban, Al-Qaeda, the list goes on.

Can you imagine Sarah dealing with these leaders effectively, without risk? Would that make you feel safe?  It is almost like she is being set up like a stooge so McCain can win over the women’s and Evangelical vote. Barack Obama is right, McCain just doesn’t get it!

And with her modest four year college degree in journalism, how can she be expected to make decisions regarding the supreme court.  As next in line for the presidency, she will need to be ready to “defend the constitution of the United States.”  I wonder if she has even read the entire document! She has certainly never had any reason to study it. Barack Obama is a constitutional scholar and knows that document inside and out.

The republican’s talking points include this notion that Sarah Palin has more experience than Barack Obama because she is a governor with executive experience. They even have the audacity to say that Barack has no foreign policy experience. Who are they kidding?

Barack Obama is not only brilliant, but his excellent skills of connecting to and inspiring people, as witnessed throughout his campaign, has been put to the test. He traveled extensively and established very successful relationships overseas. He has been dealing with national and international issues as a U.S. Senator, while Sarah Palin has admitted that she is not even interested in Iraq, even though her son is getting ready to serve there!

To say that Palin is more experienced than Obama is a blatantly false talking point put out by the Rebulican Party.  She has not even completed a full term as the governor of a state with a population of only 700 thousand (compare to Illinois: 13 Million, California: 37 Million). She is still in training for her current office as Governor!

Can you imagine if McCain won the election, than had a heart attack on inauguration day from the excitement?  That would indeed be a sad day because we will have lost a good public servant and war hero, but it would be a frightful day for the American People.

And to Sarah Palin, I am so sorry that you have been used.  You deserve better.
