Julian Assange is Not Acting as Whistle Blower

julian-assangeI have taken some heat over my criticism of Julian Assange. I do support the principle of whistle blowing and all of those that support it. Today, Assange is not acting as a whistle blower. He is acting as his own agent, clearly trying to control the results of our elections. His timing is strategically placed to give the advantage to Trump. He absolutely hates Hillary Clinton, he has made that clear. He has never even lived in this country and he is using the cover of the support for his original noble mission to control the results of our elections. Why didn’t he release these before or after the election? Nina Khrushcheva, the granddaughter of Nikita Khrushchev, firmly believes that Putin wants Trump to win because he feels that if Trump becomes president, the country would fall apart on many levels. I think most of us agree that Putin is right. Mr. Assange will never live under a Trump presidency, so he doesn’t fully appreciate the importance of a Trump-free country. This is not whistle blowing, the is an effort to control our elections, and it will clearly help Trump win, especially if he holds on to some of the most egregious emails for an October surprise.

A Strong Woman is Running for President

I am so proud that we have such a strong woman likely to be the next president of the United States.  It is sad to say, but I don’t think everyone is proud.

In fact, I think there are many that feel threatened by such a strong woman. The day Hillary Clinton became First Lady, and began working on establishing health insurance for all, was just too much for the Good Old Boys (GOP) and conservative Democrats to handle.

We need to look past the Republicans’ effort who are trying everything and anything to keep this wonderful strong woman from becoming president. They have been trying, in vain, to discredit Hillary Clinton for years. We cannot let them get away with it.

It’s Election Season Again!

Bernie sanders with we the people

Bernie Sanders with We the People

So we are back. Back in the windy world of presidential politics.

As a person whose goal is to seek and disseminate the truth, I will say that I believe Bernie Sanders is the most truthful candidate I have ever seen.  He wants to work within the rigged system, then mobilize the American people to fix the system with their votes. The current system is set up so  private companies can give a lot of money to politicians so that they will legislate policies that enable these companies to make more money. This prevents our elected officials from doing what is best for We the People.  If these politicians do NOT do what the private companies want, they will give their money to another candidate, a candidate that they CAN control.

Well, the days are over when the People vote against there own self interests by believing the false rhetoric  “take our country back” or “make America great again.”  What the People didn’t understand, until finally Senator Sanders is now telling them, is that when they say “take our country back,” what they really mean is, take it away from We the People, and give it to wealthy.  When they say “make America great again,” what they are really saying is make the wealthiest Americans great again. And the word “again” is really unnecessary because it always was great for the wealthy, and it always will be great for the wealthy unless if we, yes, We the People, stand up and VOTE!

The voters of yesterday thought that government was too big. They thought they wanted  smaller government. If the government is made smaller,  all that extra “power and money” of the government will NOT be given to We the People! It will be given to the wealthy, the big corporations, the banks, the 1/10 of 1 percent.  If the voters want to “reduce the size of government,”  we the People will NOT be the beneficiaries! We the People will not prosper.  The wealthy will prosper. The wealthy will take  control, doing what is best for their profit line, definitely NOT what is best for We the People.

We the People, and only We the People have the power, but we must use that power by voting! And we must vote for someone who is going to keep We the People in power by taking that power and money away from the wealthy, the big corporations, the banks, the 1/10 of 1 percent. That wealth does not trickle down. That wealth does NOT create jobs. If it did, We the People would be getting richer, too. But, as we all know, the rich are getting richer and the We are getting poorer.

Bernie Sanders is the only one who can effectively bring this truthful message to We the People, and enable Us to rebuild this nation, to make is strong, to make it safe, to make it the envy of all the world.

Be Informed Before You Vote! We Have a Choice! No to Mel, YES to Meegan!

I know that many people just vote for the status quo and elect the name that they know. This is the greatest mistake that we could make, and we will all pay for it later.
Who is Deb Mel? She is the daughter of our former Alderman Richard Mel. Does that qualify her? Absolutely not! Is she a name that you know? Absolutely, but voting for her would be exactly how kings are made. The offspring automatically inherit the “thrown.” The major difference here is that we have a choice!
Deb Mel has got the big machine money behind her. Does that make her the right person for the job? Absolutely NOT. Her family friends are mailing out flyers, feeding you with one liners that are total distortions of the truth.
For example, I recently received a flying saying Meegan was going to raise your taxes! This is way off base. Meegan wants to, in effect, LOWER the property taxes for the middle class and poor working families so that the wealthiest Illinoisans will have to step up and pay their fair share. Are you one of those wealthy Illinoisans? Probably not. So why would you vote to benefit the most wealthy at *your* expense.
You need to get past these one liners and think about the fact that, if you are middle class, or the working poor, or just simply a part of our forgotten underclass, voting for name recognition is a vote against your own best interests!
There is no “trickle” down of money from the wealthy. There is no reason to vote for Deb Mel, who is simply a mouth piece for Rahm Emanuel. These polished, high powered, well-funded candidates look so wonderful, but don’t be fooled.
I strongly support Tim Meegan for Alderman, because I know firsthand that he cares about this community. He is extremely committed to us, the people of the 33 ward, our schools, our children, our jobs, our homes and our lives. He is a very smart, compassionate family man who would put us first.
Mel and the machine is interested in digging deeper roots in their careers by greasing the pockets of their wealthy donors.
Meegan is interested in digging deeper into solutions for our community, solutions that would make all of our lives better.
Which sounds better to you?

Sarah Palin’s Congressional Target Hit! Gabrielle Giffords Shot

UPDATE: 1/8/11 Sarah Palin’s website “Takebackthe20.com” has been mysteriously taken down, but not before I made a copy of it. Visit Take Back the 20.com to see my copy of this website!

Could this be the first shot fired in the war declared on the American People by the right wing fanatics?

USA Today Reported on September 24, 2010

In a website launched on Thursday, the six-month anniversary of the health care law, Palin puts a bull’s-eye on 20 House districts under a headline that reads,

Included among Palin’s Democratic targets: North Dakota’s at-large Rep. Earl Pomeroy, Southeast Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and Virginia Rep. Tom Perriello.

The map, reproduced here from Sarah Palin’s website, showed a bulls eye as seen looking down the barrel of a rifle. The heading reads “We’ve diagnosed the problem… Help us prescribe the solution.”

Rep Giffords

Target Map Direct from Sarah Palin's Website. Shows Target on Giffords' district where she was shot

Is this the new culture of politics that the extreme religious right wish to promote?

Letter from Moveon.org says it all!

MoveOn.org

This post is directly from an email I received from MoveOn.org. This letter makes things very clear and I would like my visitors to see it as well.

Donate to MoveOn.org here.

Dear MoveOn member,

Today is John McCain’s 72nd birthday. If elected, he’d be the oldest president ever inaugurated. And after months of slamming Barack Obama for “inexperience,” here’s who John McCain has chosen to be one heartbeat away from the presidency: a right-wing religious conservative with no foreign policy experience, who until recently was mayor of a town of 9,000 people.

Huh?

Who is Sarah Palin? Here’s some basic background:

  • She was elected Alaska’s governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage.1
  • Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2
  • She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3
  • Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4
  • She’s doesn’t think humans are the cause of climate change.5
  • She’s solidly in line with John McCain’s “Big Oil first” energy policy. She’s pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won’t be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6

This is information the American people need to see. Please take a moment to forward this email to your friends and family.

We also asked Alaska MoveOn members what the rest of us should know about their governor. The response was striking. Here’s a sample:

She is really just a mayor from a small town outside Anchorage who has been a governor for only 1.5 years, and has ZERO national and international experience. I shudder to think that she could be the person taking that 3AM call on the White House hotline, and the one who could potentially be charged with leading the US in the volatile international scene that exists today.    -Rose M., Fairbanks, AK

She is VERY, VERY conservative, and far from perfect. She’s a hunter and fisherwoman, but votes against the environment again and again. She ran on ethics reform, but is currently under investigation for several charges involving hiring and firing of state officials. She has NO experience beyond Alaska.  -Christine B., Denali Park, AK

As an Alaskan and a feminist, I am beyond words at this announcement. Palin is not a feminist, and she is not the reformer she claims to be. -Karen L., Anchorage, AK

Alaskans, collectively, are just as stunned as the rest of the nation. She is doing well running our State, but is totally inexperienced on the national level, and very much unequipped to run the nation, if it came to that. She is as far right as one can get, which has already been communicated on the news. In our office of thirty employees (dems, republicans, and nonpartisans), not one person feels she is ready for the V.P. position. -Sherry C., Anchorage, AK

She’s vehemently anti-choice and doesn’t care about protecting our natural resources, even though she has worked as a fisherman. McCain chose her to pick up the Hillary voters, but Palin is no Hillary.  -Marina L., Juneau, AK

I think she’s far too inexperienced to be in this position. I’m all for a woman in the White House, but not one who hasn’t done anything to deserve it. There are far many other women who have worked their way up and have much more experience that would have been better choices. This is a patronizing decision on John McCain’s part- and insulting to females everywhere that he would assume he’ll get our vote by putting “A Woman” in that position. -Jennifer M., Anchorage, AK

So Governor Palin is a staunch anti-choice religious conservative. She’s a global warming denier who shares John McCain’s commitment to Big Oil. And she’s dramatically inexperienced.

In picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made the religious right very happy. And he’s made a very dangerous decision for our country.

In the next few days, many Americans will be wondering what McCain’s vice-presidential choice means. Please pass this information along to your friends and family.

Thanks for all you do.

Obama, McCain “Revealed” Differences on CNN

After watching each hour of CNN’s “McCain, Revealed” and “Obama, Revealed,” I found many important differences in each man. It is not by any means a complete list, but just a few that jumped out.
Obama is most interested in fixing our economic problems at home. While tough on terrorism, he does leave war as a last resort.

McCain wants to make permanent bases in Iraq and would very likely start a war with Iran. He has turned his back on his pledge to leave wars as a last resort.

Obama was considered the most outstanding student at Harvard law school, becoming the first African American President of the Harvard Law Review.

McCain graduated in the bottom 4 in his class at the Navel Academy.

Obama turned down many high paying jobs for a low paying job working in the community. With his sights set on a political career, he wanted to live in the community so he could better understand their needs.

McCain picked Arizona as a place where he would like to live, and when a Republican Congressman retired, he quickly bought a house in that district and ran for congress. He didn’t know the community that he was going to serve and nearly lost the election, but he used his experience as a 5 year POW to win the seat.

Obama married his first sweetheart and has two beautiful little girls. He is smitten for his wife Michelle. One wife, one marriage, faithful man.

McCain returned from Vietnam to find his wife, unsure of his fate, yet faithfully awaiting him, disfigured from an auto accident. It wasn’t long before McCain began having affairs with other women. He eventually met Cynthia and to his own admission, obtained his marriage license to marry her before his divorce to his first wife was final.

Obama worked hard in the U.S. Senate and forged good relationships with other members of the senate.

McCain had built in connections because, as the commander in charge of the Vietnam war, his father had very high powered connections.

Women Voters: Help keep McCain out of the White House!

I must admit, I am quite concerned about the fact that I personally know two or three women that are progressive, intelligent Hillary Clinton supporters who want to either vote for a third party candidate, stay home or write-in Hillary Clinton.

Of course any of those actions would give John McCain a significant advantage that could put him in the White House.

One argument I have heard is that the Obama campaign was sexist and they do not want to “reward” such behavior with their vote.  I certainly understand that sexism is alive and well in this country and I was appalled by some of the rhetoric used during this primary season. I should also mention that I was equally appalled with the racist rhetoric I had been hearing.  The reality is, McCain would actually legislate sexism. We cannot afford this step backward.

Withholding our vote from Barack Obama would put McCain in office. On sexism, McCain is no talk and all action!

Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America said, “He voted against family planning, he voted against the freedom of access to clinic entrances — that was about violence against women in clinics,” Keenan says, adding, “He voted against funding for teen pregnancy-prevention programs, and making sure that abstinence only was medically accurate. This is very, very extreme.”

In addition, McCain has long held radical positions on reproductive issues, having consistently voted :

  • AGAINST Ensuring women’s access to birth control
  • AGAINST Providing educational information for teens on birth control
  • AGAINST Requiring health insurance companies to cover birth control

The bill that McCain voted for that which denies coverage for birth control actually mandates coverage for Viagra! When he was confronted with this, he went into a long, long pause looking like a deer in headlights. His actual response was that he didn’t want to talk about it, he doesn’t remember his vote and he doesn’t know what his opinion is on this.

McCain has stated that Roe vs. Wade “must be overturned.” His position is that abortion should be not legal even in cases of rape, incest or life threatening conditions for the mother.

And there’s more!

John McCain has opposed the Fair Pay Act – a bill that would guarantee women equal pay for equal work. To make matters worse, McCain insulted women by saying that the solution to employment discrimination was for women to get more “education and training.”

Now, think about this. When you watch the polls and you see McCain so close to overtaking Obama, do you ever actually imagine that this man, John McCain, could be our president?  Does that trouble you in any way?

If so, than you know the only decision you can make, for woman’s sake, is to pull that lever for Barack Obama.Do you dislike him so much that you would be willing to give the presidency to an institutionalized sexist?
