President Obama, You MUST NOT let go of the public option. When the blue dogs realize what is at stake, they WILL vote with you on this. They are just calling your bluff, but Mr. Obama, but YOUR ARE NOT BLUFFING, because that is what you told us all when we worked hours upon hours calling voters in red states and turning them blue for you.
Anyway, as it would appear that you are in a loose-loose situation, than GO WITH WHAT IS RIGHT.
Stand firm on the PUBLIC OPTION, Mr. Obama, and when news comes flying in that the public option is saving lives, YOU, Mr. Obama, WILL BE EVEYRONE’S HERO.

Did In miss something? Have I been mistaken all these years? Is the federal government really capable, caring, and efficient? Because the idea that the government would be in charge of my health care is just crazy to me? Just as crazy as the notion that my health care should be free! Does anyone really want to go to cook county hospital? Or the VA? Aren’t those run by the Government? Isn’t their care free?
Lets not forget all the other entities that the Government already runs so well. Post Office, Fannie and Freddie, the DOE. The list goes on and on, consider how poorly government programs are administered. Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, HUD, are all either insolvent, headed toward insolvency, filled with waste, outright fraud, theft, and bloated bureaucracies.
And when the Federal Government does harm you what recourse do you have? Can you sue? Well, sometimes, sort of, maybe, but you have to ask permission and the health care bill makes it even harder.
So let me get this straight, you will sue the Government in courts run buy the Government, with judges appointed by the Government. How well do you think that’ll work? About as well as suing an Insurance company, in a court run by the insurance company, with a judge appointed by the insurance company. At least the insurance company doesn’t have an unlimited budget to pay its lawyers. The Federal Government… they can (and do) spend without limit.
I was at Jan Schakowsky’s town hall meeting and she actually asked why people didn’t trust the Government. The short answer is because we have eyes! We’ve stood in lines, had our passports screwed up, seen or been involved in horror after horror of mismanagement and abuse. Are you kidding me?
I don’t know what fantasy people have about the Government taking care of their health (for free no less!) but it’s just a fantasy. In reality government is an inefficient, uncaring, uncontrollable bull in a china-shop, rife with waste fraud and abuse of the governed.
